CAB TO A JAB

I had the invitation to a booster injection

As one of those oldies who warrant selection.

To my delight it was listed to be given close by

Albeit a shade too far to walk (or even try!)

So I decided to invest in a business which

Would see me arrive there without a hitch

To hell with the expense - I booked a cab

To take me in style to my booster jab.

And it certainly did that - allow me a smirk

That saw me alight from a shiny new 'Merc',

The sort that politicians seem to enjoy with aplomb

Never mind that the fuel must cost taxpayers a bomb.

And I also made sure it was booked to return.....

This pensioner - like a pop star with money to burn!!

But it was wise to attend - that much was made clear

So I was willing to pay my way - there and back here!

Now I can relax virtuously for the winter ahead

And spend my cash on things like presents instead!!

JC - while there's life, we have to cope!
Actually, it chimed almost 6 months to the day since my 2nd
AstraZeneca injection. No queue jumping here in The Smoke. ?

Seems a bit late, MC, for someone of your advanced years to be getting a booster jab! A nipper like me got mine some time ago.

Thanks kJ. I occasionally use the same private hire firm for
health checks that occur an awkward distance away. I have
travelled in an interesting assortment of vehicles, including 8-seater people carriers (solo passenger!), but this most recent
mode of transport was a cut above the rest for "luxury". ?

We'll.
We haven't been able to get out much of late. So when we do get out it makes sense to go in style.
Hope your jab went well, and you didn't suffer any side effects.

NOTE: An alternative title: BERK IN A 'MERC' - was also
considered. ?
