This Chinese meal for one
I will remember all my days
For what happened that night
changed my life in so many ways
The waiter brought my bill
along with a little surprise
This kind and simple gesture
soon became my greatest prize
Wrapped up in shiny foil
I found my own fortune cookie
Trapped inside this sweet treat
was a short message just for me
The note read as follows
“be a friend and you will have one”
I took this great advice
now my lonely days are long gone
