Winter Sunrise
A chilly winter sunrise
distant warm and mellow skies
Slumbering, tall, slender trees
like towering giants rise
A latticework of branches
stir the imagination
Fabricating countless shapes
in vertical formation
The woodland construction site
builds homes for wildlife and birds
Even on these sleepy days
there’s no rest for Mother Earth
