follow instructions, obey
arms folded, mask secure on nose
stand on yellow footprints
get nervous if someone
gets too close
keep a watchful eye out
for anyone who might
creep into your space
do they look like carriers?
behind those masks
there are secrets
people need to be identified
with a tattoo on their forehead
do not trust the counter clerks either
they touch things all day long
and then hand the germs off to you
with that long receipt that is full of virus particles
we have found the source of Covid
it is not that lab in Wuhan after all
it is the U.S. Post Office
where they are Practicing delivering the mail.
