Cowards Way
The way of the coward isn’t for the faint of heart
For this road is paved with miserable faces and shaky hands
If you wander far enough you may find yourself blinded by deception
Of course the pain endured is self inflicted
Whether the wound be gaping or completely numb, it was intentional.
Sing an ode to the misguided souls disguised as free birds
We are the stargazers, falling into a deep, meaningless spiral
Scared at every corner we stand sipping from cursed goblets
Possibly the last drop our sinful tongues will relish.
What is yet to come will surely devour and kill me
I deserve to choke on the punishment
Upon my lips I can taste worldly poison.
My biggest fault is that I’m stubborn
With my back turned against the moon
I feel eternal damnation creeping up on me
It’s always near
Truthfully, I’m much too broken to set my sights to the sky.
It's true, We chose departure from the Sunrise
Let death consume our mortal beings, we are reckless people daring to achieve the worst.
Despite my growth and deeds of good I once accomplished, I fell behind.
Somehow You’ve healed everything but my shame
Guilt fills this hollow body of mine.
I dig my own grave and close my eyes
Feast on my skin until nothing is left but bone
Once my breath has become still, send my regards to the moon

A coward one day,
A hero the next,
Life offers no sure way,
No wonder we're perplexed! 😏
