Don't judge

After a few stretches, she went to the door. Like everyday she picked up the newspaper, started to read. She comfortably sat on the chair in her garden with her coffee mug on the table. Took a few sips refreshing her mind. She turned on the next page and had only read few lines. She felt uncomfortable, anyone could read her face. A look of discomfort, grief, shock and anxiety ran down her face. Hurriedly she took a glance at her wristwatch. As if she was on some countdown. Immediately she got up and went inside, picked up her bag and car keys. She opened up her bag to check on her wallet, driving licence and her eye glasses. Within minutes she was near the garage, without leaving a note about she got inside the car and drove. With a screeching sound she almost alarmed her neighbours who must have thought an accident must have happened nearby. She was driving recklessly only stopped at the red lights which one would have thought she wouldn't. Several lanes down from her own home, she headed to a nearby building. It was a huge building with several blocks. On seeing from outside any person would think it to be some government office. On a closer look it resembled a newly constructed mall with several blocks all interconnected. As she parked her car, she enquired about a particular counter where she was blindly heading towards. A man at the entrance showed her the way. She ran at full speed inorder to make it to her destination. Ignoring all eyes that watched her running down several corridors of the hallway, she reached her counter. It was already flooded with other ladies. She thought she won't be able to make it, but she didn't give up hope. Jostling through the crowd of young and old ladies she made her way to the counter and took her coupon. It was almost time and the ladies who had gathered at the entrance were all tensed and nervous. Just one thought ran in all their minds, will I be able to make it or not. Seeing the crowd the hall manager called several lady incharges. None could control this over enthusiastic crowd of ladies. Atlast the shutter was lifted and was just half way up, the swarm of enthusiasts started pushing through to be the first to make it inside the block. She kept pushing and jostling untill she made it to her spot. She picked up all her favourites and ran her eyes to all the other stuff displayed. She charged towards several wings and grabbed everything she layed her eyes upon. All the other ladies were doing the same. It looked af if these women were bewitched and had nothing in their mind but rushing about all the spots they had in mind. After all it was the biggest sale of the century after pandemic was over.

It worked with the humour trying to bring a sense of light into the dark side of pure madness.
