Hiccups

Are a real pain
when you have them
you can't get rid of them
try drinking water
try deep breaths
try a bag over your head
try any remedy but
they refuse to go away
they are stubborn hiccups
and put up a good defense
so acquiesce to hiccups
consider yourself
a hiccup in life
you came along unexpected
but there you are
son of a belch.

A bag over your head - government health warning flashes! But what about the hiccups, you reply!
