Dear husband

We are poles apart,

Too different, from the start.

With nothing to offer,

Or help each other,

Each other’s joy we smother.

Our lives are together now,

Where you go, I go in tow.

Let’s live the best we can,

I'll try my idea, you follow your plan.

We'll see each other and smile.

And continue another day.

Another mile.

Tricky things, relationships! You combine complex ideas tangible with potent imagery. 😊

Thank you Stephen! I am new to expressing myself through words, and this platform has always prompted me to develop this art everyday.
And, also, it might not be so bleak, as what follows these lines is-

I know,
Romance is a butterfly,
Too fickle to stay.
Fly in, and flit away.
I know.

I hope,
Love is like the moon,
Always there, might be seen or not.
Smiles, one day, might also say a lot.
I hope.

Once again, thanks for your observations!

Bleak, but impressive.
