and wipe away all the pain.

restore every scar to its previous state.

undo every lie ever told.

What would be left of us?

 

How many of our dreams and passions,

are rooted in someone else’s bullshit?

 

Do you champion women’s rights,

out of a genuine concern for the plight they

face on a daily basis?

Or do you like to end your tweets with

#killallmen ?

 

Do you study the history of LGBTQ peoples,

and the trials society puts them through?

Or are you mad at all the religious hypocrites

who show just as little love as you do?

 

Where is our hearts, in all this grey we have made?

Because the cosmic scales are in fact,

in black and white.

 

How much of you is the you that’s been there

from the day you were born?

How much of your anger has blinded you

from the opportunities around you?

 

Forgiveness doesn’t make the pain go away.

But so long as a piece of your heart is set aside

to hate those who have hurt you,
