We have sold the old furniture
beautifully crafted with nurture
We have thrown out the baby
with the bath water completely
God has faded into our lost landscape
and nothing has replaced his divine space
Culture and heritage are now scorned
and no longer a part of our daily norm
We seldom read, write, play an instrument or paint
and not one thing has replaced the saint
Churches stand empty with new Gods to replace
because there is more of them they need the space
Our identity, pride and individuality are gone
as we merge into a vacuum of little or none
Modern souless architecture does abound
as beautiful buildings no longer are around
Porticos and arches are lost in time
to be replaced with glass and stainless steel to rhyme
Music has become a moronic beat
as so few occupy the piano seat
Only a remnant of our former glory remains
God alone knows what the future contains

This speaks to me, Keith. I agree with the sentiment. It takes us longer to construct buildings and furniture with no aesthetic appeal.
