Busy Garden
The garden is a busy place
wild birds come to feed all day
Their visits entertain us
as they pick and peck away
Robins, sparrows, finches and tits
create a constant flurry
Busying themselves on the grass
the blackbirds scoot and scurry
We also get the odd pigeon
clumsily ambling around
They like to wallow in the bath
then settle down on the ground
We recently had a woodpecker
he made a welcome sight
Bold, bright and beautiful
red belly and spotted black and white
This week we got four new additions
to our wildlife family
The four cutest baby rabbits
that you could ever see
Their mother is so protective
I’m sure she watches on with pride
We watch them explore the garden
before returning to her side
I know they should be discouraged
but I just love to watch them play
So I ignore their feeding habits
for just another day
