Paddington Came To Tea
What a great weekend to remember
one that will go down in history
The time the nations came together
to celebrate the platinum jubilee
Four days of festivities and events
great spectacles for us all to see
From the lighting of flaming beacons
to the magnificent grand finale
There was ceremonial processions
with majestic pomp and pageantry
A colourful carnival parade
enjoyed by the royal family
Buckingham palace was centre stage
turned into a huge cinema screen
Laser beams and drones lit up the skies
the most impressive that I have seen
Communities held their street parties
there was much singing and dancing too
Every village, town and city
decorated in red white and blue
What a great weekend to remember
filled with much optimism and glee
I must confess my favourite part
was the Queen and Paddington taking tea

Beautiful, Julie. You should be the Poet Laureate this weekend.
