Palm Trees
Palm Trees
They bend as if in a willing act of obeisance to the ocean
Their fronds fluctuate and quiver in the simmering breeze
The scenery is adorned and given a name by their luxurious presence
Each has its own identity and bouyant beauty
They live and thrive in a tropical idyll
A secret voice is whispered in the rustling of their palms
It speaks of peace and harmony with all about
They compliment their surroundings and rise above the
hibiscus and bougainvillea
They give shade to the flamboyant trees
The fruit of the coconut is food and drink
Homes are built in their name
They adorn the tropical landscape and
speak of tranquility and the possibility of heaven
to which they aspire
