A nice long walk this morning 
under moody threatening skies 
Sunlight clashing with the grey 
creates a dazzling surprise 

The sea is calm and peaceful 
lightning flashes across the sky
The weather is humid and close 
as distant thunder rumbles by 

A brief shower of warm rain 
sprinkles the land, flowers and trees 
Now there’s a freshness in the air
sweet scent carries on the breeze 

The sky slowly turns hazy white 
with the slightest hint of blue  
As the storm gently drifts away  
we enjoy the brighter view
