The Rona Effect
The Rona Effect
Brain that feels like hollow
Night sweats and body aches
With mash potato body to follow
Ten hours sleep
But still so hazy
Unable to focus
Like I’m halfway between hungover and crazy
Hacking cough and congestion
Mental health in question
More sleep please
Oh wait— no— I’m wired
How is my body blocking my zzzz’s
When I’m so damn tired?
It smells like cardboard
And tastes like air
I eat cause I know it’s good for me
But I don’t really care
I certainly can’t read
Watching netflix feels tough
This ain’t no common cold
This journey is rough
Dear Rona
While you are here you have me succumb to feeling hateful
When you pack your bags to leave
I move to feeling grateful
C-bomb— It’s been fun
No actually
This has totally sucked
Thanks for the experience
And gratitudal transformation
Now Rona—you can go get fucked

Thanks for your inquiry Rasa, and I hope you're soon feeling better.
I'm English, born in England, and English is my first language.
My family background is of a typical Lancastrian Irish Catholic community-and It's a long running project of mine to "teach myself Irish".
As someone who lives/works in Australia, you'll probably be famliar with the Anglicised name "Kelly".
Say my name with what I would describe as a "cod" Irish accent, and you'd be pretty close to the correct Irish Pronunciation😊!
Congratulations on your work in mental health, a badly neglected and "invisible" aspect of healthcare here in the UK.
