entry picture

I looked through old albums

after she was gone

There were so many to sort!

An enormous journey

through paper and keepsakes

A memoir of ephemera

full to bursting from within

It was the few empty pages

that followed in some that got to me,

labors of love, reminiscences

yet to be cherished

As it turned out, I didn’t mind the task

The archaeology of a mother’s time

and the stories it told

It was really no trouble at all

I look at old photos of our parents, and wonder if our children will have the same feelings about us, with all this "digital" technology in a few decades time?
