Danger of Societies Shackles?
I may not be able to hear as well as you
but how many of you actually try and listen
I may not be able to see as well as you
but how many of you actually use that vision
I may not be able to be as steady on my feet as you
but how many of you get drunk, stagger home and or drive
I may not have the same physical strength as you
but how many of you actually use their strengths
I may not have the same beliefs and values as you
but how many so you have the courage and conviction
You don’t need to be able bodied to be enable you to really
listen to your colleagues, friends or neighbours
You don’t need to be able bodied to enable you to make sense of all
that goes on around you
You don’t need to have full mobility to be equipped to
run your life and provide stability
You don’t need full physical or mental capabilities to enable
yourself and those around you
You don’t need specific beliefs or values
To equip you to function within communities
So who in society has the right to question
our communication capabilities
So who in society has the right to say that
you don’t provide the strength and stability to all
So who in society has the right to
label us in some way within a neat box
So who in society has the right to choose
where and when our future lies
So who in society has the right to imprint their
sets of morals on us, expecting compliance
How do you know whether that door will open,
unless you try the handle? If you try the handle have you not made a choice?
How do you know where the last domino will fall,
once the first is toppled? If you do not know what is around the corner why not take that chance
How do you know a barrier really exists just because
society tells you it does? If you say a barrier exists, then it does.
How do you know whether it is better to answer the question,
or to question the answer? If a question forms on your lips then you already have the answer.
Aren’t there are enough barriers forced upon by those that
demand conformity
Aren’t there are enough edits that come from high
that restrict our movements
Aren’t there are enough people pulling in different
dangerous directions which waists resources
Aren’t there are enough people that try to forcibly influence
our values and morals
There are enough of us; that do listen, that can see, that are stable, that have the strength and conviction to collectively remove the danger of societies shackles
AREN’T THERE?
