Word Trigger Memory Churn

Sitting quietly on a deck chair; waves gently kissing the sandy shore;

The sun warms me; breaking down the sun block, I read a ‘Daily Bore’.

Children screaming in wild excitement; seller wandering plying soft drinks

All of the above words now bathe your mind, fond memories me thinks!

Millions of minute details filed in your mega-bite memory bank, on snooze

The system waiting for ‘hearing’ to latch onto a word; initially can confuse

Frantically; at lightning speed memories churn; sifts data; out image pops

Spiritually your back at that ‘beach’; sounds and smell onto senses hops

In 2005 I went to my GP over a shake in my hand; like a perpetual wave

Of the causes uttered, I wasn’t ready for that word ‘Parkinson’s’ she gave

“I’m not old enough”, I said; this huge boulder hit; my life all but downed

Its weight was upon me, crushing my life structure, world tumbles around

My world was forced down by unwanted life changing sets of scary events.

I went back to the small print in ‘human being’ contract; give recompense

Scanning through in fine detail, of course, the Lord had the very last word

There on the bottom line ‘any other changes’; “Come on that’s so absurd”

Since that date the Lord has shown me more words; future and hope

Since diagnosis he is using his vision for me to help equip others to cope

He uses my poetic words; maybe a line or the whole poem will conspire

Hello, Philip

The poem explains a lot of your sorrow for the unwanted health issue. Just keep positive thinking and take your medicine God will help you to cope with this. Just to assure you that you are not alone with this. Yes, you are young, but with this slow illness, you have many years ahead of you if properly monitored. I worked with patients in the hospital for over 22 years. You have lots to offer to the family and the World as long as you take good care of you. Perhaps monitoring your food and taking good care every day will help. Writing is good therapy as well. Keep up the fabulous work!!

THANK YOU!
Zuzanna
