Life as Play
Sometimes when things fall apart,
I mean really apart,
like craziness & confusion & impossible-to-fix
falling apart--
we find our way back to laughter
simply because what is happening is so absurd.
Seeing events unfold as if scenes in a play
helps ease the pain a bit,
becoming an actor on the stage of life reminds us that the scene will end,
happily or sadly,
we know not.
But when we go behind the curtain and find our laughter again,
we find renewal,
we find strength,
we find endurance,
and--freed of responsibility for creating the plot or its ending--
we learn to sit back, relax, & enjoy the simple, small pleasure of being fully present in this most precious moment.

Thank you Hélène for some excellent advice.
"Seeing events unfold as if scenes in a play"
....looking from a distance to get things in perspective is important...especially in these dark winter days, when it seems the world has literally taken leave of its senses.
