Crossing the Line
You can lose yourself without boundaries.
Lines in the sand, with no paths or signs.
Slip the lead, loose the reins and leave your compass
Behind as you follow your firefly heart
And wallow in marshmallow words,
Cushioned by caution, leap over the mark.
Relish the freefall of a brand new start.
And hours are timeless and full
Of boundless beauty, life with no limit…
Lifeline snapped, passport free possibilities
No walls to hold in your restless waiting,
Wanting, yet fearing to be bound,
Lost, not needing to be found.
And Love changes, I love changes too…
Life rearranges, dancing here with you.
With fingers crossed, you face the choice each day
And lines in sand are whispered away
By gentle breeze of discontent,
Shifting night and day and transforming straight to bent.
Tides which lift the grains and suspend
You two and swell and fall and upend
Your hearts, with life anew, sounding bells.
Caressed and held, the heart then swells
To fill the space between your life and hers.
It pulses and devours, feasts upon
Each second spent, the minutes, hours,
The body, soul, the mind and the tongue
And makes each second last so long.
And here’s a pedestal, statue long gone,
A goddess who iives there in a song
Awoken from her granite sleep
To step down and wiggle sandy feet.
She heard a call and played her part
Which stirred her blood and filled her heart.
But sad and lonely, she sang it back
As deeper life her soul did lack.
My ship I chose to steer to rocks
It splintered there and I jumped free
So on the island her and me,
Our blended hearts made light and heat
The fire ignites with pulsing beat
And here we lie, entwined and close
In sandy shore, the edge of coast.
Passion flows around our words,
And sadness, loss, like widow birds,
But on our path we carve our way
Single file or side by side by night and day
We wander and we wonder, unleashed, free
A world of hope without clear boundary
The way is lit for us by words, love is the key
The instinct guides us on with life, you and me… .
