Money for what?
Money for what?
We have money for wars but not for the poor
they build tanks to kill each other, that's for sure
Missiles fly thro' the sky and destroy a home
and take away all that I own
They conscript young men and women to fight
as civilians cower in basements without a light
The bodies of young and old are thrown into the ground
they have all died without murmuring a sound
Bombs and rockets cut off all the power
as we are left outside cold and in a snow shower
From all this suffering what is our destiny?
apart from the occasional help and some well earned sympathy

The madness has its historical origins across this world of ours.
Even as we despair of the death and destruction, we offer
employment to countless legions toiling in the invention and
creation of the weapons of war. It has been so from time
immemorial and continues apace, strangely accepting of our
universally recognised feat of producing overwhelming armageddon
that has somehow sent us back a step to what is smugly
termed "conventional warfare". Perhaps we are meant to
be grateful? .
