All for a Greater Order
All for a Greater Order
Blood drips on fields of ripened corn.
Stained food from guilty demons.
To soil the innocents.
Emotions on distant fires.
Ash covers a violated landscape.
Cries and wails.
The mist of misery descends.
Vanquished subdued.
Only obeying orders.
The sun fades.
Birds sing soliloquies.
Banners unfold.
Dark images pirouette.
Trumpets blast.
Anthems sung with fervour.
It was a concentrated effort.
just another day.

Powerful and devastating in its pounding language and imagery, Keith. A fine poem. Thank you!
