Orate Fratres - Brothers, Let us Not Prey

entry picture

Orate Fratres

Our raison d’être? to fulfil the Lord’s prophecy!

For we are the Tory Party at prayer;

Prayerfully, we arrange the country’s economy

So the wealth of our friends should never be impaired.

Jesus preached that: ‘the poor will always be with us,

In fulfillment whereof, we his Kingdom prepare;

Let us implement with care, Austerity’s cuts,

With the deserving poor, the Lord’s love share.

Lord, let let it be so, I pray, here in my pew,

May they be the many, may we be the few.

Thank you all for your likes and generous, encouraging and well-considered comments.

THIS CONTRIBUTOR has been fighting for justice no matter what political party was in power - in Britain, and in the rest of the world - in his own small way, for the majority of his life.

He protested against hunger and poverty in the UK and abroad, since the 60's, against the Vietnam war, against T.Bliar's war, and against the current war on UK human rights, on UK poor, and on UK public services, (including cuts to police numbers -for the MANY, not the FEW!)

We need a protest party. There's plenty to protest about.

I'm curious (habit from a career) what this contributor will find
to write about when Labour get into the driving seat of government. Will the style remain so vituperative about their
shortcomings? I intend to stay alive, if only to find out. What fun!

Thank you Keith-I hope you are well.
When tackling a subject such as this, I find it sometimes hard to choose being overtly flippant or deadly serious:
I think any "humour" percieved by a reader is often caused by the utter absurdity of a real situation.

Thanks Uilleam,
If anyone wishes to be a follower of mine he must give all he has to the poor and then follow me. I shall send this to the Tory Party at prayer.
Keith
