NIGEL FARAGE AND DICK DEADEYE

You can say what you like about Farage

But he's achieved more in his life

Than any MP now in Parliament

Or the World and its trouble and strife.

Farage reminds me of Gilbert's Dick Deadeye

From the perennially popular "Pinafore"

Created to utter disquieting realities

That more fanciful minds would deplore.

Gilbert knew much about human nature

Targeted in his Topsy-Turvy style

And since human nature doesn't change

His brilliance still brings a smile.

If certain mindsets ran a popularity poll

It's for certain Farage wouldn't nick it,

But there's always room for someone

Who values country, good government - and cricket !  ,

UoC - My opening words were a literary ploy that recognised
that its subject was always likely to be subject of comment far from complimentary and pointed the reader towards what
followed. All opinions are subjective depending on a personal
mindset and, unlike the basics of "evidence" do not require
corroboration. Cheers.

MC, I'm a self-taught writer, so I leave literary criticism to the "experts".
Your invitation: "You can say what you like about Farage".
My response: absolutely nothing.

Wot - no in-depth critique of the profundity of the content and its
relevance to today's world or any considered assessment of its
carefully contrived construction via traditional versification? How
disappointing. 😉

Farage is a demagogue, who has helped inflict an immense economic and social catastrophe on the most vulnerable of UK society.
He did so (as his type always do) by appealing to the racists and gullible.
He has in short taken the urine out of the UK.
Farage had it extracted in turn by Nick Robinson.
To quote a dear old soldier "They don't like it up 'em you know!"

I see interview after interview where politicians of all parties are put on the defensive by journalists. They could do with a bit of what Farage has.

I mix with a lot people across the social spectrum and the overall impression I am given is that Farage is widely liked and respected. Though maybe not amongst WOL members.

Farage took exception to the tone of Robinson's interview, no more, no less. Since when is a response of that kind a sin?
You have your opinion but how about some proof of your libellous
description of him as "a traitor"? Farage, to his credit. doesn't
indulge in declining to air opposing opinions. That alone is in
contrast to those of an opposing socio-political viewpoint.

'You can say what you like about Farage' ... but can you? He objected to Nick Robinson's 'condescending tone' on Radio 4's Today programme the other day. You say that he's a patriot, MC ... I say he's a traitor and Putin sympathiser.
