Fascists Out!

Message for admirers of this well-nigh fascist regime:

over the last few weeks, I’ve had a kind of Damascene moment;

so you can shove your bloody culture wars

up your self-important ever-vocal fundaments.

I’ve decided there are far bigger fish to fry,

Like under-nourished British school kids,

Who go to school hungry and cry;

or are bullied because they can’t afford

the requisite latest poshest uniform.

Put these scumbags out of our misery soon oh Lord,

Please send them Braverman’s hurricane, or a bloody great hailstorm!

And for your comments
MC,and Graham.

Graham, I agree with you there -must do better!
MC. my immediate concern is with the corrupt politicians of today who have a word in the “shell-like” of the Murdochian sewer in order to to spread lies and hate as a means of dividing and ruling us.

UOC - some interesting words from FDR. Not least when
considering the power of the press barons of his time and their
undoubted influence (nothing changes) over the public's view of
what goes on in the world. The famous names of wealth and influence abound, with the brilliant film "Citizen Kane"
threatened with lawsuits due to its alleged "take" on the all-powerful press baron William Randolph Hearst. Eisenhower
followed in his own time with a warning about the power
and influence of the Industrial-military complex, very
relevant in a modern mechanised/industrial world - ongoing
even now in its ability to obtain huge profits across a world
that is rarely free from conflict anywhere you look. We have
also recently witnessed an "update" via Big Pharma.

Whomsoever wins the fickle minds of British voters next time around should create a new position of Minister for Parenting!

With two of my own children now teachers and myself visiting the school gates four times a week delivering and picking up a grandchild, there is much to be learnt there.

We should do better for our children

Thanks for you question MC…as far as my personal “philosophy” is concerned you’ve hit the nail right on the head. I try not to use the terms“left/right wing”, on the premise that a fascist is a fascist, a bigot is a bigot…etc, regardless of their political affiliation, be they Labour or Tory…or indeed of any faith or none.

I Quote Franklin Delano Roosevelt (January 30, 1882 – April 12, 1945), commonly known by his initials FDR, speaking in 1938:

“Unhappy events abroad have re-taught us two simple truths about the liberty of a democratic people.
The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism—ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power.
The second truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if its business system does not provide employment and produce and distribute goods in such a way as to sustain an acceptable standard of living.”

Is that the fascist right or the fascist left? On contemporary
evidence I wouldn't class either of the current majority
parliamentary parties as worth electing to power.
As for school uniforms, I recall that the commendable idea was
to give all the kids a sense of common identity, aimed at
removing the perceived sartorial advantage of the kids from better-off parents that could engender envy and the emotional
discord that kids can suffer in such situations. I recall one kid
in my own long-ago childhood who complained to his parents
that he was called "Council house kid".. See what I mean about kids not missing much when it comes to being "one up"?
