Another Song to Mother Earth

I am happy when my feet touch the ground,

I breathe deep as I walk the lands of my day,

I give thanks with each slow step that I take,

my feet are eager when they feel the strength of mother earth,

she is kind and generous with bountiful gifts,

I am happy when my feet stroll and glide

across her gentle back,

she is my foundation,

my elegant mother

with skies of blue

and clouds of white

adorning her face.

Oh mother earth thank you

for the blessings

you shower on us,

teach us, teach us,

we beseech you,

teach us

to nourish life

for everyone and everything.

Your father sounds wise; words to cherish. Glad you liked the poem, Manish!

This reminded me of a life-changing walk that I had with my father years ago, where he had told me about how grateful we should be to mother earth for this life, and that we need to contribute to her and be grounded as much as we can.
I loved the whole poem, mainly the ending lines.
Thank you, Hélène!😊
