CERTAINTY
I wish I had the knowledge and dogmatic certainty
That others can dispense as wisdoms' pearls;
Complexity confounds me; unlike others I can't see
Solutions to the issues of this world.

I remember a quote usually credited to Plato (the Greek not the dog) "A wise man speaks because he thinks he has something to say. A fool speaks because he thinks he has to say something". It's telling that all of us think we are in the first bracket.
Conviction of purpose seems to get dished unless it is "to taste", it seems.
I'm with you there, John. I've always been suspicious of certainty - Mrs Thatcher, Nigel Farage, Liz Truss etc seemed to have it in buckets.
