Message from an Arsehole to a "Shithole"

entry picture

The good folk of the North-East UK

will surely be delighted to learn today

that thirty-four per cent of their children,

the victims of that corrupt brethren,

are living in poverty because Stockton’s “a shithole”,

in a country ruined by complete arseholes;

their mission’s complete, they’re finally there,

with their wealth and their health, saying “sod your nightmare”,

it’s taken them thirteen years and six months,

of lie upon lie, and great cunning stunts;

Victoria, yes, you were right about Hunt,

it’s spelled with a C, which to be blunt,

describes to a T the rest of that scum;

that cesspit in a moral slum.

Sadly as often happens we are getting very close to contravening Wol’s code of conduct I fear. Perhaps best to let this one go everyone.

The UK now has a much needed Minister for Common Sense, and on the basis that “one volunteer is better than ten pressed men”, step forward Reggie’s Ghost, Minister for Upholding High Poetic Standards; well done that man, a beacon of hope in our literary darkness.

MC, you can correct all you like; my estimate of thirteen years and six months +or- a few days still stands; because I live in the present and in hope; not as it were, in some fantasy of a Thousand Year Reich.

I've never claimed to have "a monopoly on virtue", but I do have a solution; it's called Democratic Socialism.

As for the protection and well being of the UK, of which you speak:
do you consider Home Secretary Braverman's decision some weeks ago to allow Spanish Neo Nazis and self-professed Jew-haters (who've been refused entry to Germany at Frankfurt) to meet in Preston, and to commemorate The British Union of Fascists' leader, Oswald Mosley as being in the interests of the UK's population?

UoC Can I offer a correction to your interpretation of my comment. You sought correct me about "fourteen" years - yet
surely by the time the next election arrives it WILL be that term in
office? As for the rest of your response, pray do not compound the error of thinking you have a monopoly on virtue
with tub-thumping stuff that offers no solution.
SG - your comment about Farage seems connected with your present whereabouts. He is labelled "far right" because he has the temerity to speak
out on behalf of the protection of, and social well-being of the nation state.
Anathema perhaps to a socialist POV.

I can't help feeling that quality and standards have slipped on this site.

Where's Wolfgar when we need him?

I'm prepared to accept a bit of rough and ready if it gets the message across, which your poem does, Uilleam. How much lower can they go? Probably quite a long way, until they finally call Farage back from the jungle.

Great contributions from Steve as well.

Our friend? methinks you flatter me too much Delboy-it'll get thi nowheer !
...innuendos ...sociopolitical? Bloody Norah, them's rather long words for this time o' day...my brain can't cope any more, so seein'as ow it's Friday, I'm off to the pub to share yet more total bollocks with my fellow anarcho-marxist-satirist-self-hating British poets: that by the way IS my dayjob!

He treats poverty as fun
An article on the TV news
A throwaway at PMQs
A lifestyle that he'll never choose
A mile he won't walk in their shoes
He treats poverty as fun

He thinks that it's a game
Doesn't see a broken nation
Just a previous administration
His participation
Is just playground aggravation
He thinks that it's a game

He really doesn't care
I'm alright is his position
Just as smug in opposition
Blind eyes infant malnutrition
Without contrition
He really doesn't care

Misrule MC? not fourteen-that's wishful thinking- it's thirteen years and 6 months...to date!
And I don't regard British citizens dying on our streets from hunger and neglect as FUN.

Thank you Graham.
My personal world is pretty good compared to that of the victims of these corrupt ideologically driven charlatans.
Because I'm in good health, I don't have to literally just "exist" with decimated mental health services, underfunded NHS, and "consciously cruel" DWP impositions.

Let them sneer who will, I do my duty as a fellow human being by defending those who have no voice.

James can’t contain
James can’t explain
James can’t refrain
From being profane
James did not
Engage his brain
When he said “because it’s a shithole”

James can’t keep quips
Off his lips
Has James had
His parliamentary chips?
He can’t be trusted
To not sink ships
When he says “because it’s a shithole”

James isn’t brave
With skin to save
He’s trying to say
It wasn’t him
And anyway
It was aimed
At Cunningham
When he said “because it’s a shithole”

James has proved
He doesn’t care
For folk round there
Or from elsewhere
So when you vote
Be aware
He said “because it’s a shithole”

In days gone by poems were often distributed via broadsheets - I don't mean the Guardian - and I'm sure they contained a great deal of vituperative abuse. In this case Mr Not-So-Cleverly started it, as he has confirmed today, after his point-blank denial of yesterday. Just the other day an appeal court judge upheld the right of two protesters to refer to Iain Duncan Smith as 'Tory scum'. I only mention this to provide some balance in the comments section!

Our friend Uilleam probably has some serious valid points to make, but he does himself down with all the abuse and innuendos he can't resist putting in.

As for the piece itself, if it wasn't for the sociopolitical message it would not be worth the virtual paper it's written on. I'm sure he can do better, if not he should get himself a day job.

What will you do when (if?) the Tories lose the next election?
Ah...I think I can guess.. Lay the blame for any Labour Govt.
cock-ups on "Fourteen years of Tory mis-rule"? I look forward
to all the fun.
