When the days become nights
In an alternate reality far away
The dying earth was left astray
By the ignorance and apathy of its people
Causing an ecological ripple
The days became nights
And the world succumbed to endless riots
Hunger became the unwelcomed kin
And then came death, its clingy twin
Tales of the glorious past
Were a painful reminder
Of days when the sun was kinder
And nights that were serene and quieter
With the atmosphere destroyed beyond repair
And an air barely breathable and fair
Living itself was a tough affair
Few searched and searched
For habitable lands beyond their world
While the rest fought for life
And many perished in the strife
Trapped in the ceaseless gloom,
They all thought,
If not for their indifference
Towards their earth's sufferance,
They would have lived joyous lives
Brimmed with peace and content smiles

Thank you Nila.
We hope against hope that the little which we small folk can acheive in the face of cynicism and greed, will leave our children an inhabitable world.
