My Father’s Homeland Attacked Ukraine
About love, I want to write
But someone interrupts,
You have to write about a fight
The song you sing corrupts.
My homeland is in the fight,
People dig the ground with the shells.
It's impossible to sleep at night,
All around looks like a dance of hells.
So many pieces of lead are all around!
With whom is Ukraine is at war?
My father's land is tightly bound,
The soldiers die not knowing for.
My father’s land attacked Ukraine,
If he knew it, he would turn over in grave.
Now my heart is filled with pain,
No one wants to be a slave.
The land of Pushkin and Tolstoy,
The home of Fet, Tsvetaeva and Dostoevsky,
I am afraid to be annoyed
By funny Rzhevskiy.
Everyone must understand one thing,
If you want to live in peace and love
You should Love to increase and bring.
After all our mother Еarth rests on love.

I appreciated this heartfelt poem, Larisa. It is so tragic that a country which has produced so many great writers, artists and musicians is now instrumentalised into a war machine invading a neighbouring country.
I pray for everyone caught up in this horror and hope that somehow it will end soon.
