Panting panting

feeling triumphant of our ascension unto the the top we came

while gathering breath smiled then laughed proud and loud

bereft of any shame

with lips that yearned to meet and kiss the green bladed

breeze blown verdurous sway

blessed and blessing we these coming hours of such a glorious day

gave both no thought of elewhere other than

to dwell on the here and now for the sake of each mind heart and soul

allowing the natural beauty of the all around

impose its wonderfully free and endless toll

 

Embers of this golden sun fired day we said

must be always and forever deeply retained

spiritually burnish themselves onto the pages of our lives

with all the other many summers treasures gained

above the lark enriching the ethereal heights with song

with grateful listening wishing if only our presence we could prolong

then lay back in silence watching the white cumulous armada

sail the sky
