God Didn't Know What to Say

entry picture

People are cheaper, things are more expensive,

With a lack of spirituality, men are more offensive.

Ducky lips and selfie, a bare ass,

They forgot the beautiful word “lass”.

Passing by the poor people, watching mangy cats

Their faces remind me of dangerous rats.

His dad is a deputy, he studied in the States,

Now he is responsible for others' fates.

Someone is fighting for his family and friends,

Defending their children and native lands.

The others sell the arms and prisoners of war.

They have only one aim: more, more and more.

Suddenly he was awarded and a hero he was afforded.

He didn't see the tank in which he could be boarded.

Those who were not paid gave their lives for the whim.

They didn't know what it was to be in one team.

Arms and fates, even a rail - all are on sale.

News, great goals, and awards - all are a fail.

The price of the soul collapsed in at once.

You didn't have to ask for another chance.

Hate and envy eclipsed the compassion,

Life had left only terrible aggression.

What they fought for turned out to be nonsense,

I ask: How to win the war with soldiers absence?

Only the laughter of kids brings us back to life.

All the roads to peace go through the strife.

Looking above the sky God turned gray,

He looked around and didn't know what to say.

"People are cheaper, things are more expensive" - unfortunately seems to be true.

"Only the laughter of kids brings us back to life." That line lifted my heart, Larisa. So, so true; so well said in this compelling poem.
