My Poetic Soul

I lost a rhyme

Somewhere in time

One that nestled

In my soul

It left a scar

A dying star

Could not replace

The light it stole

I searched my mind

But could not find

Why my soul

Set it free

Perhaps my sadness

My internal madness

Showed no joy

Would ever be

So, if one day

It should come your way

Give it my love

And regret

My soul was broken

Leaving words unspoken

Casting a vague

Silhouette

Please make it a home

So it's not alone

And its words

Aren't easily forgotten

So the path you have taken

Will not be forsaken

And the soil

Never untrodden

And, Perhaps, in time

My beautiful rhyme

May seek me out

Once more

When my soul is healed

Without sadness concealed

And my heart

Has an open door

This is marvellous - rhythmic, rhyming, soulful too - rhymes are so elusive, they need to be captured before they disappear.

Thank you very much, Patricia! And Stephen, if you see it give it a nudge my way 😂 And M.C. if only I could remember the ones I made up during the night, but by morning they've faded with my dreams!
And thanks for the likes 😊🌷

A delightful venture into poetic fantasy, disciplined yet imaginative in its premise. Resonating with many who have
experienced the "loss" of inspired words due to procrastination
or just circumstance writing poetry..

I do not see a problem with rhyme, you really are a great poet! If only I could rhyme like you. Compliments and thank you.
