Peonies

Peony
Beautiful, colorful and ethereal
Delicate and elegant
Yet so full and undeniably visible
The plant that carries these splashy flowers
gets cut down in the fall
To reemerge in the spring
Bringing forth stems, leaves and flowers
Not unlike the feminine spirit
Always reemerging from the dark into the light.
