Ordinary Day

entry picture

Twilight fades and dawn breaks free
The sun struggles to make a start
My mind is full of angry clouds
There is a storm raging in my heart
My tears cascade like driving rain
A hurricane in my head tears me apart
Welcome to my world of utter confusion
The life that I lead is just an illusion

It's just another ordinary day
My head is in complete disarray
Its just another ordinary day
Down on my knees I pray
It's just another ordinary day

Sunlight bursts through the pensive sky
Twenty four more lonely hours to kill
Another long week of shear pain
Lots of endless voids to fill
Month by month the years they fly
Time seems to just stand still
I gaze up to the heavens for a sign
But all I see is an empty sky unreal

It's just another ordinary day
My head is in complete disarray
It's just another ordinary day
Down on my knees I pray
It's Just another ordinary day

Take me out of the city and the crazy noise
A day in the country will make me whole
Back to nature will raise my spirits
Just the tonic for a tortured soul
Let me walk through a meadow
Filled with radiant dancing blooms
Take a deep breath and smell their perfume
Lay down by a lazy river and swoon

What more is there to say
Give me a sign show me the way
Tell me that everything will be okay
It's just another ordinary day
It's just another ordinary day

It's just another ordinary day
I must try to keep my mind out of the way
and bless the peace ordinary brings
allowing her spirit to share the beautiful things.

Your endearing sentiment allows us a glimpse into a connection that must have been so rich. Thank you for sharing, Tom
