Gone But Not Forgotten

entry picture

An empty chair where you once sat
A candle that burned with fire
A lonely bed where entwined we lay
Enriched with love and desire
Around this residence I roam
A house that's not a home

Gone but not forgotten
You are always on my mind
Gone but not forgotten
They say that love is blind
Gone but not forgotten
You were one of a kind

Your pictures adorn the walls
And your presence pervades eternity
Memories cascade through my mind
Your touch and smell embrace me
I am lost without you and in distress
Give me a sign so that I may progress

Gone but not forgotten
I adored you from the start
Gone but not forgotten
I miss you now we are apart
Gone but not forgotten
You have a special place in my heart

The world is not my oyster
I am all but lost at sea
Caught in the eye of a storm
With tidal waves crashing over me
Searching for some inspiration
I just need a little salvation

Gone but not forgotten
You filled me up with pride
Gone but not forgotten
We had a ticket to ride
Gone but not forgotten
See you on the other side

Another fine, moving poem, Tom. The rhyme and rhythm are perfect, as is the conclusion. Sad, of course.
