Heart Broken

entry picture

I guess my heart is broken
No more tears to cry
I guess my heart is broken
Time I learnt to fly
I guess my heart is broken
Just look me in the eye
I guess my heart is broken
No more tears to cry

Another morning greets me
But I don't feel a thing
Nothing to look forward to
What joys will the day bring
My stage is empty and forlorn
No song for me to sing
I just go through the motions
Like a puppet on a string

It's me against the world
But my strength has all but gone
The battle rages within me
I can't do right for wrong
It's like a prison for my soul
The days are dreary and the nights long
I am being consumed and  eaten alive
But I know that I must be strong

I look up to the heavens for a sign
What does the future have in store
One day at a time the people say
I don't think that I can take much more
I am climbing a mountain of despair
Salvation is the medicine I require
A miracle sent from the heavens
To rescue me from this mire

I guess my heart is broken
No more tears to cry
I guess my heart is broken
The truth it never lies
I guess my heart is broken
Be happy when I die
I guess my heart is broken
No more tears to cry

Readily recognisable. Life can present very difficult challenges,
often seemingly unsurmountable but we must endure and overcome them as best we can as we make our way through
this Earthly existence. Nil desperandum.
