Today I Turn Away

entry picture

Today I turn away from disfigured words,
from closed doors
from narrow and windowless nights
from those who are dedicated to tearing joy to pieces
for the sake of pleasure;
from constriction and sacrifice,
from men who destroy with their bullets,
from the trampling of the spirit,
from pain and injustice

As of today, I will search for the forests of April,
for fireflies that light the sky,
and the one who offers me a flower along the way,
thus giving way to the end
or to a new beginning
...who knows?
