Mess

entry picture

North and South decided to meet

After decades long, bitter conflict,

Diversity in culture captured the streets,

Although a few condescending ones

Had irrational reasons to contradict.

All was fun and the sun shun bright

Above the ones who had once

Put up an ugly fight.

The city was sparkling in the daytime,

And even more so in the nights,

There was procured peace

After a very long time they said;

Racism was completely dead,

And acceptance came with ease

Until the renegades rose to tease;

The colours - black and white

Were separated in carrom and chess

And that resurfaced the great mess.
