The Moon Fairy (Sapphire Queen)
The Moon Fairy (Sapphire Queen)
She came in the form of a Sapphire Queen
The melancholic fairy of the moon
Her beauty gave her no joy
With the absence of her lover
Tarnishing her bloom
In the depths of night
The air would shiver at the haunting
Of her lament
No one could escape the pulsating vibration
Of her grief
The earth shuddered to the core
To hear the tormented storm
Of The Sapphire Queen
Leaving desolate trees
Huddled in tortured piles
Amid the chaos of lost dreams
Spent emotions fell upon hilltops
Sending up messages in the mist
To be carried by the stars from her soul
To his
On receipt of this cosmic gift
He arose from his long slumber
Soaring through space
To land gently at her studded feet
Hand in hand, the longing lovers reunited
Together they strode to the edge of the shore
Closing earth’s door behind them
Before diving to the ocean floor
The earth grew silent
The trees stood tall once more
To gaze upon the mesmerising colours
Bouncing off the surface of the seas
Today the fairy tellers regale folk
With the legend of the moon fairy
Known as The Sapphire Queen
They tell of how the sea softly shimmers
Because moon fairy loves to be seen.
