Where has the night gone

Swallowed by sodium neon, led

We cannot see beyond

Boyhood dreams gone by the flick of million switches

Stand me in a field of dark

Hello Milky Way

Where have you been

Your beauty a slash in the heavens

Quietly rising and setting 

Measuring the days

Gazed at in wonder 

Through child eyes

Hanging in cosmos by invisible strings

A misty cloud that shrouds the earth

We nestle in it slowly jostling round the spiral

Yet unseen  by a million eyes 

That gaze at the ground

Look up,

Stare into infinity 

Draw the soul into the cosmos 

Become a particle in the mist

Dissolve into the mercurial night.
