Poetry or Not (That is the Question)

Poetry or Not (That is the Question).

I write my poems mainly in rhyme.

It helps clear my head and give me Peace of Mind.

I don't plan or rehearse any line.

Just write what's in my head at the time.

I have no idea if they are any good or not.

And frankly I couldn't give a toss.

I won't win any prizes for my writings.

But other poets I will not be questioning.

I read and try to understand what's behind the lines.

How was the person feeling at the time.

Some people write what you might call old school poetry.

I and many others right about feelings and reality.

As with many things in life.

Negativity is in abundance and rife.

There are those who raised the question.

Are my poems, poetry or not, how condescending.

Rhyme is often considered a defining feature of poetry.

This is how I write because that is what comes naturally.

It is quite clear for all to see.

My poems should be classed as poetry.

Good attitude. If ranting be the food of love rant on! and as OUT LOUD as you like it.

Those whingeing about ranting have obviously never heard of the likes of prize-winning Russian poet, Rantziz Pantsoff!. I went to one of his book-signings in Manchester a few years ago.
