Deep eyed DOE
Deep-eyed doe peered through the trees,
Curious about the strangers she saw,
Wondering how well they lived,
What stories they sheltered in their hearts.
If only she could glimpse their truths,
Touch the threads of their past words,
What hopes danced between them
In the silence of their gaze and the distance of their voices.
People would come, asking for her help,
But how could she guide them,
When thoughts and whispers were wrapped
In shadows she couldn't see?
Friends pulled away,
Claiming they couldn’t understand the sight,
And she thought,
How can one be heartbroken,
When all they hold is hidden?
Doe felt the weight of uncertain ties,
She knew well the storms within,
Yet faced a world of masked intentions,
Mistaken identities felt like fog,
Blurring the faces and the truth.
But in her heart, she held faith,
Trusting love woven in gentle intentions,
She rested easy, clear in her own light,
Knowing her kindness rang true,
Both to them and to herself,
Awaiting the clarity that time would bring.
