Emotions Unveiled
In the fair of emotions, I lose my way
Among fruits and laughter, a mystery at play
Your eyes, like ripe avocados, invite me to peel
To take a chance, to discover what’s real
I want to know what love is
If it’s samba on sidewalks or a sorrowful fizz
Is it dancing in rain or a dream that won’t last?
A wish for the future, a tie to the past?
The clock ticks away, but my heart skips a beat
In the street, a cat purrs, where does he retreat?
I ponder and wonder, as I wander alone
Where does he call home, where is his throne?
I want to know what love is
If it’s joy at the corner or a cry of abyss
Is it sun hiding low on the horizon so wide
Or a flower that wilts when it’s lost in the tide?
If loving’s a quilt made of laughter and sighs
Stitching together the whispers and cries
A breath in the night or a shadow that lingers
An echo of feelings that dance on my fingers
I want to know what love is
If it’s art on the walls or a snap of the fizz
Is it losing and finding, or just a lost line
A verse drifting softly, a heartbeat in time?
