“Welcome to the Show!”

entry picture

Gaza is forced onto a boundless stage,

A spectacle of endless conflict,

In a world where roles are chosen by power

Trump says, "Welcome to the show!"

He knows his role, he knows his lines,

Staging a political performance beneath the guise of humanity

Upon the stage owned by the United Nations,

They send hollow promises to Gaza,

Leaving them choking in the anguish

Irony plays out endlessly on the stage

The theme is called “a slow, sorrowful death”

Netanyahu is the actor,

Takes his place with a script of despair,

"Erase every trace in the dust!" is his line,

While pointing toward Gaza as though it hid shadows of wrath,

His character will keep performing,

Rooted in a facade of ruin,

Until Gaza is utterly destroyed

A cruel show, yet none can halt it

For more than a year, genocide is staged

Let this poem be the silent close,

Pulling down the masks of those who hide behind humanity’s name,

And drawing the final curtain on suffering’s boundless stage

@Uilleam Ó Ceallaigh I love your view! Sometimes, I also get frustrated with certain media, especially when they present news that sways public opinion negatively, and I often hear there’s manipulation behind it. This was also evident during the early days of the Gaza genocide in October 2023, where several media outlets spread a lot of propaganda. Sometimes, I wonder if many people have lost their sanity nowadays; there’s so much we can’t trust, and the media is one of them. We really have to be cautious in getting information, or else our minds will be affected, and we might end up in trouble ourselves.

Yanma,
I have been doing my bit to support independent journalism for a couple of years. Now I never listen to or watch the mainstream media; and I don’t buy my local rag or national newspapers, which are only fit for loo roll.
Also, when in the car, listening to my favourite classical music programs etc. I turn off the news, because it’s just a stream of cut and paste, biased laughingly called “journalists” who spout unquestioning, complacent and incompetent claptrap.

@Graham Sherwood @Uilleam Ó Ceallaigh, I agree; your point truly resonates. Doesn’t this also mean that our collective awareness and solidarity are more important than ever? If more people understood the impact of the military-industrial complex and supported independent journalism, perhaps we could start making gradual changes. But, to be honest, I’ve reached a point where my heart cries out every time my fingers have to 'like' a post showing the shattered bodies of babies. A year has passed, and I’ve done nothing but like posts, just to keep the algorithm from letting Gaza disappear. I will always support them, yet my inability leaves me feeling conflicted. I hope Gaza will gain freedom soon.

"A cruel show, yet none can halt it".

One phone call could halt it-if we took to the streets in sufficient numbers.

But the might of the military industrial complex ensures that that our leaders carry on killing with impunity, the truth being supressed, as journalists are persecuted on totally spurious grounds on behalf of the Genocide Enablers' agenda.
