Disruptors
They call them the disruptors,
Trump and Musk and Co.
But what do they disrupt?
Not themselves, oh no!
Not their balance in the bank,
Or property portfolio.

"science is the path to the future of us all."
yes, but it won't make us ALL rich!
more like:
“Arbeit Macht Frei” - aber ein paar Reiche.
The rich always excite envy. Science is benefitting from Musk's
enterprise. And science is the path to the future of us all.
Musk is by far the most dangerous!
Wealth and power gone wrong.

Thank you, Graham. Yes, Musk is the greater long-term danger, but the Donald could do a lot of short-term damage.
Uilleam - science is a great force for good, of course it is. But, as you say, in the wrong hands it has the power to enslave. And, of course, for many people 'science' is only good when it is convenient e.g. climate scientists and scientists developing vaccines are persona non grata for much of the American right. Witness the demonisation of a fine public servant like Dr. Fauci by Trump and his sick bunch of cronies.
MC - You seem to assume that this poem was motivated by envy. Actually it was intended to mock the dishonesty of these super-rich 'disruptors', whose self-serving ventures into politics are aimed at further enriching themselves and their friends, rather than their professed concern for the ordinary people.
And thanks to everyone who liked this poem.
