Tough Decisions to Make

Tough Decisions to Make.

The corrupt and dingy world of politics.

Tangled web of lies from the politicians’ lips.

Verbal lashing of the masters tongue.

The manipulation of our very young.

Headed words of the old wise man.

Political moves with a slight of hand.

Screams of fear and uncertainty in our ears.

No more longing for yesteryear.

Doubt and insecurities breeding hate.

The slow breakup of the welfare state.

Confused by promises we have heard.

Oncoming pain not equally shared.

Mandate of lies is the policy.

The eradication of any honesty.

Compassion is a dying thing.

Replaced by ignorance and lack of understanding.

The only direction is going down.

In a broken land ruled by clowns.

Earn less, pay more mantra of the day.

Our children's future passed away.

Less debt is what needs to be seen.

Out of debt will now be only a dream.

Future replaced by existence.

In power through false pretence.

Name shame, blame game, underhand.

Redefined the definition of a working man.

Dismantling of our nation.

By the greedy opportunist politician.

Unions unite to taunt the clowns.

Backhanded plans to bring the country down.

Public advice needed to devise a plan.

To help the smarmy two-faced NHS man.

The homeless in their boxes freezing in their sleep.

More working people will join them sleeping on the street.

Our clean water profits washed abroad.

Our dirty water pumped to all our shores.

We must be ill six weeks in advance.

Is it serious, who knows, let's take a chance.

The overpaid vice chancellors say they know it all.

If you don't put the students in more debt the system will fall.

Consultants happily funding their Barbados holiday home.

Junior doctors working eighty hours with all the other minions.

While train drivers celebrate their enhanced pay.

For sitting on their arses all day and every day.

The Uber wealthy have loaded their suitcases and are heading for the sun.

Plane loads of them running from the tax man.

If you do the crime don't worry you won't have to do the time.

Because our Victorian prisons are falling down.

Children's education decided by a post code lottery.

Equality for all children it makes a mockery.

Families who can't afford to buy presents for their child.

Watching politicians choose from their ever-growing donation pile.

The elderly sitting in the cold with the aching bones.

While their MP claims their electric bill for their second home.

Yes, Prime Minister tough decisions we must make.

Do I pay a bill, turn the heating on or shall I eat today.

Starmer having his strings pulled by his band of merry men.

As they gleefully and unashamedly lead us to the broken land.

When they have finished, and our hope and pockets have been wrung out dry.

They would look down on us with that irritating, condescending, smarmy smile while counting their own ill-gotten pile.
