Let Roses Rain...

For me, there should be roses raining,
A sky of wonders, never waning.
The world should twist, turn on its head,
And all its worries left unsaid.

At sixteen, I dreamt with quiet fire,
To reach the heights, to never tire.
To claim my place, to stand my ground,
With every voice, I’d make a sound.

And later, I longed for something grand,
To see the world, to understand.
Not lost in crowds, but free to roam,
To chase the road that calls me home.

But now, the dreams are still in sight,
Though none have come, I’ll still take flight.
I want it all, to rise, to fight,
To reach the stars, and claim my right.

The roses fall, the world may shift,
But still, my heart will never drift.
I’ll take my chance, I’ll risk it all—
For roses, wonders, or my...................................fall.

"To chase the road that calls me home."
A lovely line, Rolph.
