Accelerant for Polarisation and Misinformation
In this poem, the unchecked ambitions of figures like Elon Musk and Donald Trump are laid bare, portraying the madness and manipulation behind their rise to power. The poem particularly critiques Musk’s dangerous influence, highlighting his role in sowing discord and spreading misinformation. With a blend of corporate greed and political manoeuvring, Musk’s tactics are compared to the authoritarian rule of Trump, amplifying the erosion of truth and environmental degradation. The relentless pursuit of profit at any cost shapes a new world order where freedoms are stripped away. The poem is supposed to be a chilling exploration of the perils posed by those who use wealth and influence to control, divide, and deceive, pushing society closer to its breaking point.
The man with wealth beyond all reason’s scope,
With power bought, by greed his mind is broke,
Upturns the law, with no concern for right,
His deeds sow evil seeds, with sheer dumb might.
In Texas‘ plains, in Brandenburg’s bare earth,
Factories rise where soil and water suffer;
With deals and tricksd, his grip taints earth’s worth,
The rules are bent when profit’s call grows tougher.
In public view, a figure crude, unbound,
Arms lifted high, a grin that chills belief.
With taunts and boasts, a temper coarse, unbound,
Like Trump, his mirror, casting doubt and grief.
Both share a bond of boundless self-esteem,
Two minds intent on breaking every check;
To twist and tear down limits, laws they scheme,
Each buys his power, leaving truth a wreck.
Musk‘s words on screens spread like a fire’s blaze,
Where truth is murdered by deceit and lies.
His deeds feast on a well of twisted ways,
He poisons minds with every ruthless rise.
Beware their force, whose reckless, cruel intent
Seeks power through each word, each law that’s bent.
For every lie, for every move they make,
The fragile world grows closer to its stake.
In DOGE—his new Department of Control—
The state remade to serve a chosen few;
Together they will play their brutal role,
To quell dissent, to show a tyrant's view.
Take from their wings the means to cast their blight,
To curb their drive for power cloaked in spite.
Or else the world, in blindness and dismay,
May wake to find all freedoms stripped away.
P.S.:The poem is correctly formatted in the original. In two stanzas here, the line spacing cannot be changed. I don't know why. Forgive me for that!
