SHE
(Am I the only person ever to think that the WASPI claim for pension compensation for women to reflect the
change in age entitlement was spurious? Was it wrong to be equalised with men's? It was introduced in 1995 with subsequent amendments.. How much more notification would have been needed? A re-post of mine from some years ago.)
She will get her pension same as me
She says she wants equality
It is the justice for which her sex will strive
She has pressed for changes in the law
For all the wrongs she’s fighting for
So it’s not 60 anymore
She’s got to wait to 65.
She now thinks this can’t be right
One more mysoginistic slight
Like dirty low-down tricks men play through history;
She wants parity of wage
But when it comes to pension age
“It should be 60” she will rage
But she will get it same as me.
She says those who wear a frock
Found changes to the law a shock
Too short a notice without warning or a sign
Loud objections that one hears
Despite announcements known for years
Realigning with male peers
She gets hers when I get mine.
